Space Grant co-sponsors a Saturday science-focused "Kids' Club" with the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Kids Club is a science-oriented program aimed at children aged 8 - 12 geared to promote and encourage interest in all areas of science and mathematics. Once a month during the school year, Kids Club offers hands-on seminars with local engineers, scientists or other experts who conduct programs featuring a variety of activities including constructing and launching rockets and delta dart airplanes, building and using wind tunnels, learning about comets, lightning and electricity, air traffic control, building a moon base...and much more! Participants are charged a nominal fee, and scholarships are available to insure that all interested kids have an opportunity to participate.
