Space Grant co-sponsors a Saturday STEM club with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). The AIAA STEM club is a science-oriented program aimed at students in 6th - 12th grade. It's geared to promote and encourage interest in all areas of science and mathematics. Once a month during the school year, STEM club offers hands-on seminars with local engineers, scientists, and other experts who conduct programs featuring a variety of activities including constructing and launching rockets and delta dart airplanes, building and using wind tunnels, learning about comets, lightning and electricity, air traffic control, building a moon base...and much more! Participants are charged a nominal fee, and scholarships are available to ensure that all interested students have an opportunity to participate.
