Alumni Highlight!

AZ Space Grant reached out to former (2013-15) UArizona Space Grant intern, Clark Pederson, to see what he's up to now. Clark said this when asked if his Space Grant experience helped him reach his educational or professional career goals:

"I figured out during my undergraduate experience that I loved fluid dynamics and programming. I wanted to get a job using both on a daily basis. I had a dream of working for an aerospace company, and of course NASA was at the top of that list. Working for NASA seemed almost impossible--the dream was so big, I didn't see any chance. Through the NASA space grant program, I started researching shock/boundary layer interactions in supersonic flows. As I pivoted to graduate school, I continued researching shock/boundary interactions. That research was very relevant for the researchers at NASA Langley Research Center, and helped me land a civil servant position there. I can't thank the Arizona NASA Space Grant program enough for starting me on this track."
