Luis Tapia holds Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers STAR Innovator Award, with two Honeywell employees

Honeywell Sr. Product Design Engineer Luis Tapia has recently been honored with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers STAR Innovator Award. The award recognizes a scientist or engineer with innovative contributions to their field who has actively created new paths in science research and technology, while inventing breakthroughs that open doors for others.

Luis’ lengthy career at Honeywell Aerospace began over a decade ago when he first joined the organization as a summer intern. He now serves as a Senior Product Design Engineer, having earned his advancements based upon the merits of his technical contributions to the sciences of gas turbine heat transfer and fluid mechanics. Luis currently works in Honeywell’s Mechanical Center of Excellence, designing gas turbine engine components that enable a variety of turbomachinery to efficiently and reliably provide power for a range of products, including business jets, commercial transport aircraft, and military trainer jets, to name a few.

Luis has previously been awarded the Outstanding Engineer Award and Honeywell Chairman’s Award, and has twice received the Honeywell Aerospace Technical Achievement Award for his expertise and dedication to his profession.
