Project Description: We have recently suggested "Sampling Decision" methodology --- see https://arxiv.org/abs/2503.14549 -- which applies broadly across many disciplines in sciences and engineering where the task is a sequential sampling and adjustment of decisions. I am looking for motivated undergraduates in physics, astronomy, optics, math or engineering who can learn the technique and explore its applications in the domain of his/her interest/focus.
NASA Relevance: Decision making under uncertainty, accounting for physics and engineering specific modeling and simulations.
Work Description:
- Study Dynamic Phase Transitions in multi-class diffusion models of AI
- Extend the sampling decisions approach to an application of the student's choice
